Our Story

Humans have always had a special relationship with the land, we are ritualistic peoples. Our ancestors had many rituals with what we took from nature, what we gave in return, what we made with what we received, etc. But with the invention of the plow, and the colonization of land, our relationships with the land began to look very different.

Ritual in Bloom is about tapping into those rituals once again. Flowers have much subtle wisdom to share with us and what can they teach us about trust, connection, and presence.

Flowers have been used throughout many cultures for centuries for healing purposes physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. A lot of those healing traditions have been lost due to the genocide of Indigenous peoples and the colonization and slavery of the United States.

Much of the info I am learning about flowers/rituals/medicine comes from a western perspective, and because so much knowledge about flowers has been lost, I am also taking time to meditate with the blooms, reflect with them, slow down and listen to them, and my hope with Ritual in Bloom is that encourages you to do that as well.

I will be working on stolen land from Shoshone, Goshute, Ute, and Paiute peoples, and I hope together we can continue to learn and support the land back movement and work to be accountable to change actions/behaviors/beliefs that perpetuate systems of oppression.

I want to develop this business with community. This is a space for us to learn together and hold each other accountable as we learn to work responsibly, respectfully, and reciprocally with each other and the flowers. I am learning with you all so please reach out to me with any questions!
